Spreading Kindness Throughout New York Communities

Sunmark Credit Union and the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation strive to spread more kindness in the world, starting with our own communities. Every summer starting in May, children up to age 12 are invited to "deposit kindness" by submitting ideas on how they would spread kindness in their community (home, school, sports team, neighborhood, etc.) – no idea is too big or too small! 

Throughout the summer, Kindness Crews select ideas to become Kindness Projects and bring children’s vision to life.

Kindness is a Team Sport: Pitch Your Idea!

Kindness is a team sport, and every great play starts with a strong pitch. Through our Summer of Kindness initiative, we’re asking kids to step up to the plate and pitch their kindness ideas that make a real difference. One child will be chosen at random to throw the first ceremonial pitch at a Tri-City ValleyCats game in June!* 

How Your Ideas Become Kindness Projects

Our Kindness Crew will reviews each submission and works with children to turn teamwork, creativity, and kindness into real projects across New York communities.

1. Pitch your kindness idea by submitting an online form here, or pick up a copy at any Sunmark Financial Center and email the completed form to kindness@sunmark.org
   
2. A Kindness Crew comprised of Sunmark Credit Union and Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation volunteers will review all submissions and select ideas to become Kindness Projects and fulfilled throughout the Summer of Kindness. One child who submits their idea will be selected at random to throw the first pitch at a Tri-City ValleyCats game.
3.  If your idea is selected, your parent/guardian will be notified. We will work with you to bring your idea to life and spread kindness in your community! You and your Kindness Project will be highlighted on our website, social media and may even be featured on local news outlets.   

Good luck, have fun and remember that no idea is too small - a little bit of kindness goes a long way!

• Ages: Up to 12 years old 
• Deadline for Summer of Kindness entries: August 31, 2026 
• To be eligible for the TriCity ValleyCats First Pitch, deadline to submit idea is May 31, 2026.
• Free to enter, no membership required
